Beginner's Photography Course

ONLY 6 SPOTS AVAILABLE  3 Models, 3 scenes, 3 lighting setups. Hands-on learning. Photograph professional models with the use of strobes and various modifiers. Photograph alongside your instructor, then enjoy free-shooting time with the models and scenes. Lunch & snacks provided. Bring your camera, lenses, & SD cards, everything else is provided. 

6-hour course. (1.4hr breaks | 4.6hr work time)

The workshop will feature three different models, each expertly styled and paired with lovely setups/backdrops. As we work through each model, we will be playing with a different lighting setup. After instruction and showing you how I’ve set up, you’ll each have a chance to photograph the model in the scene with the lighting setup, with 1 on 1 help from me while you shoot! After everyone has had a turn, we’ll move onto the second model and setup, and the same cycle with repeat until we have finished with all three sets/models. Once we’re done with our setups, everyone will be set free to create and experiment. Pull a model from one setup into another, change gel colors, play around with our accessories, headpieces, and even wings! I’ll be available the whole time to help you with settings, lights, and anything else you need.

Lunch and snacks will be provided for everyone.    All lights are provided for use during the workshop. Triggers will be provided/shared and are available for Nikon and Canon cameras. If you have something other than Nikon or Canon, please bring a Godox-compatible trigger for your camera.

WHAT WE’LL LEARN:

-The photographer's trifects (ISO, Aperture, & Shutter Speed) & how to balance all three.

-How to use strobes & continuous lights for beautiful portraits. 

-How to pose models, and some posing mistakes to avoid.

-How to work with gels & color theory in selecting gel colors.

-Basic photography rules, and when to break them.

- Using Vflats to block/bounce lights, as well as other modifiers to sculpt the light the way you want.
