What is this?
The 2022 Gods and Monsters Calendar is the photographic endeavor of Jess Hess / Wurmwood Photography. This comes as a second calendar, with the 2019 Space Babes Calendar having been a huge success. Wurmwood hopes to continue the fun for a new year and a new theme, and to go even bigger and bolder than the last time!
Upon its completion, the 2022 Gods and Monsters Calendar will be a cumulative work of dozens of artists, set designers, prop makers, makeup artists, costume designers, and more. Featuring 12 months of amazing photographic art, the calendar will be tediously planned and created to bring a unique and specific concept to mind for each of the months. Each idea is meticulously planned and prepped, and then our team gets to work making the ideas come to life!
The theme “Gods and Monsters” refers to the powerful beings of lore, legend, and mystery. Anomalies of pure light or total darkness. The things of old magic, tall tales, and the deepest recesses of our imagination. The beings represented in this calendar will be an amalgamation of ideas from all over the world, and perhaps some new. Inspiration will be taken from mythological gods, demons, creatures, deities, folklore, and spirits of the Earth.
Can I model for the calendar?
To find our models, we rely on a friendly competition. Anyone wanting to model for the calendar can sign up. All hopeful models will be required to make a $5 donation, which is non-refundable and goes directly towards the early production of the calendar and running the competition. At the end of the signup period, a voting period will be announced. During this time, our participants will be encouraged to share their voting link to have their friends and supporters vote for them to be one of the winners. Keep in mind that we don’t charge for votes, nor do we offer larger vote quantities in exchange for money. All participants will have to rely on their friends, fans, and hard work to get them a spot, and it is not reliant on who can spend the most money to win. This competition is open to individuals of all sizes, colors, creeds, genders, sexes, or denominations. You will, however, need to be at least 18 years of age or older to register. For anyone who participated last time, we will be making several changes in the way voting is done this time around. Some of those changes include;
-
Limiting votes to one per person, per day, rather than the previous method of one per hour. This will allow our participants some time to BREATH, and not need to keep on their toes all day every day to get their votes.
-
Hiding vote counts. You won’t see where you’re ranking or who is voting for you, but we will. This, coupled with 24/7 vote monitoring will help provide a clean, fair, and honest competition.
-
Running our voting system on a more secure, private, and custom platform. This allows us greater visibility with our voters so we can not only monitor the fairness of the competition, but stop and remove all bots from participating in the voting process.
What are the rules?
The rules are crazy simple, remember these;
-
You do NOT have to be a professional model or have experience to register or win. This competition is open to ANYONE who wants to try! This also means you do NOT have to submit a professional image to join. You are more than welcome to use a selfie if that is what you choose to do.
-
If you do submit a professional photo for voting, you MUST have permission from the photographer who took the image to use it, and have specific permission from them to use it in this competition. All participants are reliable for their own submissions, and assume responsibility for any infringement they may cause as a result of not following this rule.
-
No one deserves to win more than anyone else, this is for fun. This is a friendly competition, and as such we insist that you refrain from making negative comments or nasty remarks about the other competitors. Competition CAN be rough, especially when you put a lot into winning. Give it your all, but respect others for doing the same.
-
You’ll be expected to travel to the Wurmwood Photography studio in Dayton, Ohio if you are chosen to model for the calendar. You’ll also need to dedicate yourself to prompt responses in terms of sizing, planning, and schedule so we can make the process as seamless and uninterrupted as possible.
-
Anyone who is being a poor sport or souring the competition, or is conducting themselves in ways dishonest to a fair vote (ie; Trash talking, buying votes, etc.) will be removed from the competition immediately, without a refund of the $5 donation to register. Anyone caught cheating in any way will be banned from ALL future related competitions.
